What is Blackboard Collaborate?

How can I use Blackboard Collaborate in my classroom?

1) Guest Speakers: Why not ask a professor, a famous athlete etc. to be a guest speaker in your classroom? It is a great way of bringing in experts into your classroom without actually having to leave your room.

2) A collaborative space for students to work in online. This could be an opportunity to connect students with other schools. For example connecting a group a students with common interests together (even when they are not in the same school). You can also connect with students/classes in other classrooms.

3) One of the best parts about Blackboard Collaborate is that sessions can be recorded which allows you to review previous sessions. This is a great way of collecting information for formative assessment. For ELL students, this could be a great tool to do ESL Benchmarking.
